Marqués de Murrieta is one of the Spanish wineries with more history . The flavor of the Marqués de Murrieta wines has a certain Mediterranean accent where the taste is close to the old but dry wood. The wine produced in the winery offers a conservative image of the DO Rioja, assembles certain traditions such as aging in old oak and high alcoholic graduations, with the latest advances in production methods. It goes through an aging of 20 months in American oak barrels, of which at least 8 were in new barrels. It remains a minimum of 12 more months in the bottle before its commercialization.
CATA's notes:Cherry color, high layer, is clean and bright. It shows an elegant and fine tear. Nose of high intensity, expressive and aromatic in which there is an almost perfect balance between the fruit load, a ripe red fruit and at the same time sparkling and the aromas provided by its passage through barrels, elegant toasted, fine spices and light animal touches. In the mouth it shows warm, intense, deep and with a great personality . The conjunction ripe fruit well balanced with the wood is repeated. It has fine, velvety tannins, a good structure, a soft bitterness and a good acidity. Long, persistent and very pleasant finish.
